What is AI Agent?

An AI agent is an AI that, given a goal, breaks it down and plans on its own, then proceeds autonomously by combining search, code execution, external tool operation and more.

Rather than a single question and answer, it can be entrusted with multi-step work such as “research, compare, summarize and execute,” which is why it draws attention in the context of business automation. Standards for tool integration, such as MCP, have also emerged.
